American Hairless Terrier - energetic, lively, alert dog whose curiosity and intelligence make for its light training. By temperament a true terrier, active and inquisitive.

Dogs of this breed love to communicate with people who willingly engaged with any business. What's more important, these dogs have a truly amazing facial expressions.

This breed is an amazing natural phenomenon. By type of inheritance is materially different from the naked dog breeds in Asia and Africa: the hairless gene poluletalny not dominant, autosomal recessive, so to get naked puppies do not need a transitional woolly form.

This breed is not an absence of premolars, as is common in other hairless breeds.
These features hairless dog Scots and her offspring are unique, this type of inheritance is not found anywhere in any other breed in the world.

All puppies are born with AGT soft short hair. By 2.5 months puppies lose hair for life remain bare. American Hairless Terrier does not require removal.

Американский голый терьер - энергичная, живая, бдительная собака, чьё любопытство и интеллект способствуют её лёгкой дрессировке. По темпераменту это настоящий терьер, активный и любознательный. Собаки этой породы очень любят общаться с людьми, охотно занимаясь с ними любыми делами. Что еще немаловажно, эти собаки обладают поистине удивительной мимикой. 

Эта порода удивительное явление природы. По типу наследования она существенно отличается от голых пород собак Азии и Африки: ген бесшерстности не полулетальный доминантный, а аутосомный рецессивный, поэтому для получения голых щенков не нужна переходная шерстистая форма. 
У этой породы не наблюдается отсутствие премоляров , как это встречается у других голых пород собак. 
По этим признакам голая собака Скоттов и ее потомство уникальны, такой тип наследования не встречается ни у одной другой породы в мире. 
Все щенки АГТ рождаются с мягкой короткой шерстью. К 2,5 месяцам щенки теряют шерсть и на всю жизнь остаются голыми. Американский голый терьер не нуждается в эпиляции. 
Кожа у голых особей плотная и мягкая, похожая на персик. 
Отсутствие шерсти является большим плюсом. Это важно, в первую очередь, для людей, страдающих аллергией на шерсть животных. А во вторую - простота уборки в доме. 

Американский Голый Терьер был признан UKC отдельной породой 1 января 2004 года. 

10 октября 2011 г. приняты в AKC (American Kennel Club).

Признаны в FCI в России, Чехии, Словакии, Украине, Белорусии, Молдавии, Латвии, Литве, Польше.

1 января 2016 г. переходят в группу терьеров в АКС (American Kennel Club).
